PARADE - IMAGES
Music, dances, rhythm, and characters on stilts are the main features of this performance which will flood the squares and the streets in a magnificent travelling itinerary.
The performance, alternating with live music, announcements and presentations of the scene by a story teller, will enrich and transform the very image of the city by highlighting the most characteristic corners of the place and plunging it into a dreamy atmosphere.
The theatre will approach the people by letting them into a magical and out-of-the-ordinary world made up of characters, sounds and sweet voices. The masked actors give flowers to the audience, accompanied by a joyful music played live by the actors-musicians (tumblers, drummers, trumpeters and flutists).
A dancer-acrobat dressed in white walks on a tightrope in a delicate acrobatic number made unique by Nino Rota’s music. A gust of wind hits her and she falls, but the scent of a flower brings her back to life.
Whilst perched on his high stilts, a character tells with his puppets the story of Pulcinella and Don Fresella who are both in love with Teresina. Another character creates wide swirls with two long and wide red Chinese ribbons, evoking a burning of passions for his partner.
This is the dream world of Parata, which has travelled all around the world, giving its audience dreams and visions: this is a theatre which goes to its potential spectators, looks for them and fascinates them right there where they live every day, in their neighbourhoods, in their villages, in their cities. A theatre which has the magical ability to stop and give birth to a stretched and longer time, that of the art.For the casual spectator the surprise of the encounter with Parata will turn the day into an experience in which colour and fantasy reign.
